Then Jesus told His disciples, "If anyone would come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it." -Matthew 16:24-25

About Us

We're Matt and Katie

We met at grad school in Saudi Arabia and got married in July, 2014. Together, we try our best to love and follow the Lord, love and serve each other, and be a blessing to our community. Our first home, which is still near and dear to our hearts, was in Golden, CO. In June, 2015, The Lord called us to move to Rwanda. Living here has been an adventure and a roller coaster that we would love to share with you through this blog, so hang out for a while and take a look around!

Matt is from smalltown, Texas. He likes living in community, rock climbing, wood working, slack lining, ultimate Frisbee, and good beer. He currently works for Jibu, a bottled water company that is operating in Rwanda, Uganda, and Kenya.

I am from smalltown Tennessee. I like being outside, painting, learning about and persuing healthy living, cooking, fermenting, and hosting people in our home. I also work for Jibu as a trainer for young women entrepreneurs.

This is our goofy dog, Bella (The fluffy black one on the left). She likes drinking out of the toilet, waking us up at 6am, napping all day long, getting into trouble, and wrestling with her best friend foxy.
